14th annual $1 Million Hole-in-one Shootout

Date: August 20 & 21, 2010

Location: Carman Creek Golf Course, Highway 105, Lower St. Mary’s (adjacent to the Ramada), Fredericton, N.B.

Event details: The $1 Million Hole-in-one Shootout is a two-day event held at Carman Creek Golf Course. Participants try to qualify for the finals by hitting golf balls into a circle surrounding the 150 yard pin. Each golfer who lands a ball within the circle qualifies for the semi-final round. In the semi-final round, golfers receive one shot for each ball they qualified in the preliminary rounds. All semi-final shots are measured in relation to the pin and the top nine contestants closest to the pin advance to the final round. The golfer with the most qualified shots during the preliminary round automatically advances to the final and competes in the field of ten competitors.

In the final, the ten golfers have one shot each to hit a hole-in-one at a pin placed 150 yards on a regulation green. Each golfer to sink a hole-in-one during the final round wins $1,000,000 to be paid in equal monthly installments over a twenty five year period.

Time: The $1 Million Hole-in-one Shootout is open to the public on Friday, August 20 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and on Saturday, August 21 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. The semi-finals begin at 5:00 pm on Saturday, August 21 and are followed by the final round.

Corporate Day: Corporate Day takes place on Friday, August 20 from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm. Businesses are encouraged to participate in Corporate Day by purchasing a Corporate Day Tee Box for $200. This will provide up to four golfers with unlimited shots at the target for one hour. Prizes will be awarded to the top three Corporate Day teams qualifying the greatest number of shots.
